How to submit your story
Initial submission - no charge
We Believe every writer should have an opportunity to introduce their story without first being asked for a payment. To submit your work for consideration, please complete the form Unsolicited Submissions
A brief proposal letter introducing yourself, your book, fiction or non fiction, and why you believe your story is a good fit for Uncommon Door Publishing
A one- to two-page synopsis of the complete story, including the ending.
The first 5000 words of your manuscript, ( generally the first 2 chapters)
Your name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number.
There is no fee for an initial submission. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for a response after your submission is received. Please do not email your complete manuscript unless requested.
If we want to keep reading
If we believe your story may be a good fit for Uncommon Door Publishing, we may request the complete manuscript for evaluation. Requested manuscripts should preferably be submitted in print, bound form, double spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman with numbered pages. Specific mailing instructions will be provided with the request.
A $75 manuscript preparation fee may apply to requested full- manuscript evaluations, if the manuscript needs to be printed and bound. The physical copy will be returned to the author.
If Uncommon Door Publishing chooses the manuscript for Door-Funded Publishing, the author will not be charged an evaluation fee.
Submission or payment of an evaluation fee does not guarantee publication, acceptance, or a favorable review.
